PUPILS at a Clayton-le Moors school are celebrating after being granted planning permission from Hyndburn Council for a new playground.
Mount Pleasant County Primary School in Earl Street will start work on the new playing fields in June and hope it will be finished by the Autumn term.
The work is estimated to cost £250,000 which has been donated by Persimmon Homes.
Chairman of governors Sam Moore said: "We are delighted at the news. It will be a major revamp, with playing fields re-seeded and with lighting and fencing. It was getting really old and was desperate for an overhaul."
