A SERVICE has been introduced to make it easier for East Lancashire residents to get information, support and advice about mental health services.
Parvaiz Awan has been appointed as patient advice and liaison service officer for East Lancashire.
PALS is a one-stop shop for people using services, their relatives and carers which aims to support the person's journey through the NHS to make it as smooth as possible.
PALS services already exist for other NHS trusts but this is a first for Lancashire Care NHS Trust which runs the area's mental health services.
Dr Barbara Green, Director of Strategic Development, said: "We want to be able to help people with any concerns they have as soon as possible.
"The development of the PALS service will mean greater access to on the spot help, advice and information."
The new system will not replace the complaints procedure.
