TOP darter Dot Ainsworth has organised a second tournament in memory of late county thrower Joan Sanders.
Dot was double tops last year when she organised the first individual ladies' charity darts competition in memory of her friend who had died aged 63 early in the year.
The event was so successful it has now become and annual event and throwers are invited to join this year's contest for The Joan Sanders Memorial Trophy which will take place at the Peake Fitness Club, Firs Lane, on May 29.
Proceeds from the event will be divided between Pendlebury Children's Hospital and Joan's grand-daughter, Louise Sanders, who was treated for cancer there.
Dot, of Wigan Road, Leigh, said Joan, who lived in Crankwood Road, was a super person and she had arranged the event because she wanted people to remember her.
Joan, who has a twin, Jean Crooks, played in the Leigh League for 28 years for teams including Plank Lane Workingmen's Club, Plank Lane Catholic Club and the New Inn.
She also played Super League for Leigh and reached the county squad.
Last year's event raised £127 but Dot is hoping for more this time.
Entry is £2, the format is 501, straight start and finish on a double. Registration is from 12.30pm for a 1pm start and can be made on the day or by contacting Dot on 01942 517282.
