THE chairman of governors at Darwen Vale High School today revealed a record year for 'first choice' applications to the school for September.
Don Heatlie-Jackson said the school had been selected as a first choice by 237 out of 240 applications. He belieived this was a tribute to the hard work by head teacher Lynn Dunning and the team of teachers.
He said: "We are absolutely flying. There is a lot of good work going on and there is so much to be proud of.
"The demand for places on a first-choice basis reflects this."
