CELEBRITIES took to the astro-turf to mark the official opening of Westleigh High's £360,000 all-weather pitch.
Leigh RMI players Steve Smith, Mario Daniel and Chris McGrath teamed up in the sporting MP's side alongside TV actor Will Travis and Leigh Centurions' Aussie forward Heath Cruckshank. They took on a team of school 'celebrities.'
Mr Burnham said: "I always remarked on how Leigh is the biggest town without a railway station and the biggest without an astro-turf pitch. This puts it right and it's great to see this first class facility at Westleigh High."
