LORD Smith of Leigh plans to join sponsored walkers stepping out to help epilepsy sufferers.
The Leader of Wigan Council, who is on the Parliamentary Committee for Epilepsy Action, will join supporters out in the open on a Walktastic day on May 23.
The event, part of a national incentive, starts at 1.30pm from Lowton Labour Club and walkers will set off for Pennington Flash before returning to the club.
Organiser Kathleen Roberts says people need to be educated about the condition and offer information, advice and support to people affected.
"This is why Epilepsy Action exists. We are determined to achieve our vision of a society where everyone understands epilepsy and it is truly out in the open."
If anyone would like sponsor forms they can ring Kathleen on 01942 741472.
