THE main road through Lowton was closed on Friday night after a car crashed through three garden walls.
A 60-year-old Leigh man who was driving the Daewoo Nubira suffered serious head and chest injuries and remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Warrington General Hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.
Police said at around 11.50pm on Friday the car pulled out from the car park of The Jolly Carter pub onto Newton Road where it spun across the road, crossed two pavements and the junction with Barford Drive and demolished three garden walls.
Three passengers, a 52-year-old woman from Leigh and a 43-year-old woman and 25-year-old woman, both from Whitefield, were taken to Warrington General Hospital with minor injuries.
Newton Road was closed for three hours and the car was extensively damage.
