BOLTON Wanderers legends, including John McGinlay, Keith Branagan and Paul Jones, helped raise more than £1000 for a cancer charity at a match in Atherton.
A Whites veterans team drew 2-2 against an Atherton Collieries past and present side at Alder House.
The match, in memory of Colls club stalwart Ernie Ackers, was held to raise money for Christie's Hospital in Manchester.
An Atherton Collieries spokesman said: "The club would like to place on record their thanks to Bolton Wanderers Football Club who supported the game in such a manner, to the players who took part and also the generosity of the local people who donated to such a worthwhile charity."
