AS a Normandy veteran who attended the Darwen Parade to mark the 60th anniversary of D Day and tribute to Jack Banks, may I express my appreciation for such friendly hospitality.
Special thanks too for the headmaster, staff and pupils of Holy Trinity Primary School, the wonderful reception at the Thwaites Centre with traditional Lancashire hotpot with Liberation brew and not forgetting the tea-shops who refunded payment for coffee and cakes.
Well done Darwen -- you did us proud!
JOHN FROST, Monks Avenue, New Barnet, Herts.
