IT proved to be a miserable weekend for Stand Cricket Club.
Sunday's home league loss to Walsden anchored the club at the foot of the Central Lancashire League table, while the humiliating 191 run defeat at Rawtenstall the previous day put paid to their Inter League Club Challenge hopes.
Having won the toss on Sunday Stand elected to bat but lost the early wicket of Warren, caught by a superb catch at short cover by Walsden overseas amateur, and eventual match winner, David Blake.
This brought Bond to the crease, who, with the help of skipper Wilkinson at the other end, started to form a substantial partnership, thanks in part to Extras offered by the visitors.
The pair added 36 before Wilkinson miscued and was caught at mid-off for 14.
John Seedle then entered the action and smashed all of his 28 runs off Walsden professional Shaun Marsh.
At the other end to Seedle, Stand we're losing wickets at regular intervals, thanks to Blake who was the pick of the visiting attack, claiming 6-15 from nine overs, although the Stand batsmen shouldn't have been troubled by the medium pacer.
Eventually Seedle fell to Marsh and the Stand collapse was complete, from 70-3 to 90 all out off 32.3 overs.
Stand then took to the field hoping for an early breakthrough, and their wish was granted, as Sam Warren took a spectacular catch at second slip off the bowling of Seedle, to remove opener Hanson (1), with the visitors on 7.
However, Marsh and Mark Hooson steadied the visitors' ship and carried Walsden to 34, before Shah had Hooson caught behind for 14.
But as hard as they tried Stand couldn't remove Marsh, although Shah came close on a number of occasions.
Eventually the visitors reached their target for the loss of just two wickets to claim all five points with an eight wicket victory.
Marsh finished unbeaten on 40, with Eddie Shah again the pick of the Stand attack with 1-26 from 14 overs, and Seedle 1-36 off nine overs.
The previous day home pro Andrew Payne hit 113 of his side's 250 runs, for the loss of eight wickets off Rawtenstall's 45 overs at Bacup Road.
Completing the rout, Roscoe (3-17), Seal (3-18) and Clough (2-13) did the bulk of the damage as Stand were bowled out for a measly 59.
