LABOUR members are fully briefed for the campaign after the party launched its latest town hall manifesto.
The ruling group saw its series of pledges given an official launch on Monday.
Members were invited to familiarise themselves with the 10-page document in a special event at Bury town hall's Elizabethan Suite.
The group promises to improve education and recreation facilities for the young, and to continue regeneration projects in areas such as Pimhole.
Council support for new investment to Bury town centre remain a commitment, along with fortnightly bin collections as part of the council's pilot recycling scheme.
Councillor John Byrne said: "This manifesto is not a collection of vague aspirations, nor is it something so specific that it goes into absolute detail."
Asked at the launch whether national issues might determine the outcome, Coun Byrne said: "I want the election to be about the quality of services that people in Bury get for their money. We are fighting this on local details."
