BURY North MP David Chaytor is in the running for a place in this year's Bury Fun Run.
This week, he picked up training tips from staff at Garden City Medical Centre, which is entering a 26-strong team.
The sixth annual five-mile run in aid of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust takes place on Sunday, June 13. To date it has raised £22,000 for the charity which helps victims of leukaemia. The Bury Friends of Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust are hoping to raise another £5,000.
Carol Snowden, secretary of the Bury Friends group, said: "So far we have had 100 entries which is really good. We would encourage more corporate teams to take part in the run, which is not a race."
The Bolholt Country Park Hotel will be adding to the fun atmosphere on the day by putting on activities like face painting for the children and a barbecue.
Each runner will receive a goody bag and medal, and there will be a number of spot prizes up for grabs.
Entry fee is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children, £10 for a family of four and £15 for a team of four adults.
Entry forms can be picked up at The Stables Fitness and Leisure Club, by ringing 07939144983 or by emailing carolsnowden@talk21.com
Although people can enter of the day, it is better for the organisers if they can be given advance notice of those who will be taking part.
