FIVE men charged in connection with the supply of drugs appeared at Bury Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
A total of 12 individuals have been charged following a police operation last week in Bury, Bolton, Rochdale and Manchester.
The five men, including three from Bury, were charged with the supply of class A drugs.
Appearing together were Zaky Javid (19), of Heywood Street, and Asfaq Ahmed (19) of Wilson Street. Javid faces three counts of supplying heroin to an undercover officer in March, while Ahmed is charged with three counts from the same month, including one of supplying crack cocaine. No plea was entered, and bail was refused.
Auns Butt (18), of Brideoak Street, Manchester, was charged with supplying class A drugs on 14 separate occasions, and Amjad Yaseen (23), of Surrey Drive, Bury, faced 10 counts of supply.
Neither made a request for bail and no plea was entered.
All four men were remanded in custody until June 16 when they will appear at Tameside Magistrates.
In addition, Nasir Iqbal (22), of Royds Street, Rochdale, who made no plea to five counts of supply was remanded in custody for a hearing at Tameside on June 23.
Yesterday a further three men were due to appear charged in connection with the supply of drugs. They were Gregory Henderson (32), of Walmersley Road, Bury, Nassar Khan (30) of South Cross Street, Bury, and Saeed Haq (30), of Harehill Road, Heywood.
