MANY Greater Manchester businesses were hit by the recent BT fire in Manchester, losing all communication links and trade for five days.
And with this in mind, BuryBusiness.NETwork will be holding a seminar at the town's Bolholt Country Park Hotel next Tuesday, (May 25) to highlight the issue of "disaster recovery."
Disaster recovery specialists The Enterprise Support Group will demonstrate how forward planning, using software tools, can assist in exploring probable incidents and how technology can reduce the risks of such a damaging event occurring.
Their representatives will offer guidance and advice to delegates on how to develop their own contingency and continuity plans for their business.
They will be joined by Manchester-based Speedwave who will show how broadband wireless links can enable communications to remain intact, even if local physical networks have been destroyed.
Event organiser Brian Berry commented: "This is a unique opportunity for Bury businesses to learn how to protect themselves against incidents which could potentially put them out of business." Next week's meeting will be from 5.30pm onwards. To reserve a place, please contact Joan Boardman on 0161 253 5394.
