BLACKBURN and Accrington factories were set to get a large share of a £7million Russian order for textile machinery.
Their main requirement for automatic looms was to be fulfilled by the British Northrop Loom Company which employed 3,000 people in its Daisyfield factory, Blackburn. The company was set to make £1million on the 2,000 looms.
