PROFESSIONAL rugby league makes its return to Blackpool next weekend -- and two lucky youngsters will be part of the big occasion, thanks to The Citizen and Oldham RLFC.
Thousands of Oldham fans are expected to make the journey to Bloomfield Road a week on Sunday (May 30) for the Roughyeds' game against Batley Bulldogs in the LHF Healthplan National League, and the club is eager for local fans to get behind the game as well.
The club is selecting a young mascot for each of its 13 players and four substitutes.
As part of that, two Citizen readers will take part in the big day as mascots.
Our lucky winners will join the team as they run out on to the Bloomfield Road pitch, wearing a special replica Oldham RLFC kit which they will be able to keep as a souvenir of their unforgettable day. The rest of the family will also be invited along to watch the game.
To stand a chance of winning, just answer this simple question;
What is Oldham RLFC's nickname?
Send your answer, along with your name, address and daytime telephone number, as well as the name and age (must be under 16) of the child who will be mascot, to Oldham RLFC competition, Citizen Newspaper, 13/13a Clifton Street, Blackpool FY1 1JD.
Entries absolutely must be with us by next Tuesday, May 25. Winners will be notified as soon as possible.
Next weekend will see a feast of rugby league at Bloomfield Road, with the BARLA National Cup Final, the game's top prize for amateur teams, taking place on Saturday.
