FINAL preparations are under way for the Darwen 2004 live music festival.
Crowds of people will flock to the town centre during the Bank Holiday weekend for the fifth annual free event, organised by Blackburn with Darwen Council in association with Darwen Music Projects.
More than 50 acts will appear on six different stages throughout Darwen, including the new World Dance Stage featuring the best of live music and eclectic global beats.
The bands will keep their audiences entertained throughout Sunday, May 30 and Monday 31, between 1pm and 1am.
Venues include the main Benedictine Stage at The Circus, the Crown Hotel, the Heritage Acoustic Stage at Darwen Library Theatre, the Kenley Stage at the Millstone, the Russkell World Stage in the Tower Room and the Cue Music Stage at Marigolds.
There will also be children's entertainment in School Street during Saturday, May 29, and a four-day beer festival at the Black Horse Hotel, in Redearth Road, from Friday to Monday.
The music line-up is headed by The Buzzcocks and also includes The Angel Brothers featuring Harprit Singh Sahota, Modeste Hugues, Hullabaloo, The Wayriders, Gone Beggin', The Roach Twins, The Swing Commanders, Lava, Shona Kipling and Damien O'Kane.
