A TEENAGE driver stopped in the early hours of the morning was found to have a flick knife.
But Blackburn magistrates were told the weapon was a novelty key ring which included a lighter as well as the knife.
Matthew James Harrison, of Fielding Crescent, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon. He was bailed for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Sian Hall, defending, said someone had brought the item back from abroad as a present for Harrison. "It was a novelty key ring but it is accepted that the knife was illegal," said Miss Hall.
