ACCRINGTON Stanley captain Peter Cavanagh missed last night's National Game XI clash with Wales through injury.
And it is uncertain whether he will feature again in the Four Nations competition, with England's final game being against Scotland on Sunday.
Cavanagh limped out of England's first match of the tournament against the Republic of Ireland with a calf injury just 15 minutes into the game.
He had played his part in Paul Fairclough's side taking the lead as early as the seventh minute when his free-kick released Morecambe's Gary Thompson down the right and he crossed for Steve Guinan to finish well.
But the Stanley right back had to be replaced by Jake Sedgemore just a quarter of an hour into the game, which England eventually lost 3-2, and the knock was enough to keep him out of last night's 2-0 defeat to Wales at Keith FC.
Those results mean holders England cannot retain the title they won last year.
Meanwhile, midfielder Andy Procter was left disappointed after missing out on his second England National Game XI call-up.
The Reds star, who was named Young Player of the Year last week, was invited to the squad by Fairclough but couldn't make the long trip up to Aberdeen because he had to sit a Sports Science exam.
On the contract front, the 21-year-old hopes to sign a new deal next week, while full back Steve Hollis confirmed that talks are on-going with manager John Coleman but expects to make a decision about his future imminently.
