A MAN wanting to make amends with his wife after a long drinking session was arrested for stealing flowers from a petrol station.
Roger Evans, aged 43, of Beechcroft, Sedgley Park, Prestwich, admitted stealing bunches worth £21 from Hilton Park Service Station, Prestwich.
Evans was granted bail at Bury Magistrates Court and will return to be sentenced on May 26.
Mark Broomhead, prosecuting, said Evans had gone to the counter but was unable to pay because he did not have enough money. He went outside to a cash machine but disappeared with the flowers.
Defending, Shabir Khattak said Evans wanted the flowers to make up for staying away for a long time.
