A SURPRISE £5,850 windfall touched the hearts of Blackburn district doctors when it was left to Blackburn Royal Infirmary by a former patient.
The money bought new chairs, tables and furnishings for the modern £80,000 medical education centre nearing completion at the site.
Elsewhere, 200 teachers from across the country were receiving lessons at the recently opened Ski-Rossendale dry ski slope. It was thought skiing may catch on in schools.
