THE search for a new site for the relocation of Burnley Cricket Club will continue after it was decided a potential site was unsuitable.
During meetings at Turf Moor, between Burnley FC, MP Peter Pike, and Burnley Borough Council, it was decided not to pursue the idea of relocating the cricket club to the Fulledge recreation ground.
Previous plans to move the cricket club to Fulledge have met strong opposition from residents, particularly over parking and construction concerns.
In response the football club and council have announced they have no intention of considering the ground and will continue searching for suitable new premises.
As well as playing a part in the relocation of Burnley Cricket club, the Clarets want to develop a football academy at its Gawthorpe site and develop Turf Moor into a facility which can be used every day.
