GUESTS at the Shireburn Arms Hotel's first ever cabaret evening had to rally together to make the night a success after the electricity went off just as they arrived.
They were about to sit down for a five course meal and listen to Elton John tribute act John Elton when the lights went out at 7.30pm.
Steve Alcock, owner of the Hurst Green hotel, said: "I would just like to thank two of our guests who went home to get generators. Without them I don't know what we would have done."
