EAST Lancashire surgeon Michael Timms, who pioneered a new technique to remove tonsils in 2000, was today to share his expertise on a live webcast.
This will be the first time the operation has been shown in this way in the UK.
The operation, using cold saline solution to dissolve and suck away tonsil tissue at low temperatures, was to go live at 10am from the Ear Nose and Throat unit at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
Surgeons from across the world were expected to log on and ask Mr Timms questions throughout the procedure.
