A FUN day will be held in Darwen town centre on Saturday to raise money for Help The Aged.
Musical events for all the family have been organised by Patricia Roscoe Smith, the Help the Aged shop manager in Darwen, to coincide with the Darwen 2004 festival. It starts at 11am in School Street and entertainment will include a junior pop idol contest, a display by the Dragon Dancers and three performances of Silly Billy's Fun Time Show.
All the activities will centre on the Help the Aged shop, with proceeds from cake and food stalls, pick-a-straw, tombola and face painting going to the charity.
Patricia said: "We want everyone to come and enjoy all that is on offer. The entertainment is free but we hope people will be generous by buying things from the stalls and our shop.
There is also the chance to win a signed football from Blackburn Rovers.
"The music festival has become a popular event in the town and with our fun day we are hoping to get it off to a great start."
