SO the council thinks the changes in the roads around Eanam are already making a difference? Well I suppose you could say there is a difference. It is causing more congestion as does most things it does to the roads in the town.
A "congestion-busting bridge" they call it. Have they not seen it when the traffic is built up all the way down to and all around the roundabout at busy times.
It wasn't like that until they "improved" it, apart from the time they first installed those traffic lights and had to switch them off again within days because they caused chaos.
£2million to create bus and cycle lanes that make things worse not better. Widening the road from Eanam to Copy Nook and Lower Audley Street is the only improvement.
Also making things worse is the narrowing to one lane where it was two, going from the roundabout towards the Market past Morrisons.
The traffic now builds up there at times and backs up all the way round the roundabout also, stopping the traffic and blocking the roundabout completely. As I've been trying to tell the council for years, Blackburn is heading for gridlock.
