PLANS have been submitted for the two agricultural buildings on next to Hambledon Road, Hapton. The parish council has viewed the plans and wants to know what will be housed in the buildings.
Plans were also submitted for a single storey extension at 8 Simpson Street. Parish councillors had no objections to this plan.
THE football team of Hapton's village school is gaining confidence with each game they play. This week they trounced Altham Primary School 5-0. They have been fortunate enough to be coached by professional footballers from Burnley Football Club and the results are showing.
A CD player has been stolen from a car parked at the Hapton Inn.
The total number of reported incidents for April was 71, which shows a slight decrease in reported crime from March.
The police urge Hapton residents to report crime as knowledge of occurrences is helpful to them in planning police presence in the village.
HAPTON village school PTA is holding a summer fair on Saturday, June 19. Donations would be welcome and can be left at the school.
GAWTHORPE High School has a new deputy headteacher. He is Stephen Campbell, currently assistant headteacher at Habergham High School and he will join Gawthorpe in August.
Parents and carers of pupils at Gawthorpe School met officials of the Lancashire Education Authority on Monday to discuss the Building Schools for the Future proposals. From the meeting it emerged that not all parents and carers shared the council's Vision for Education in Burnley.
