CLOSET art critic June Lee is searching for a spirited little masterpiece to put the finishing touches to a play.
"The Wings of Love", Stephen Pearson's passionate painting, features prominently in the production of the TV classic Abigail's Party which will be staged by St Joseph's Players from June 8-12 (7.30pm).
But director June, despite casting the net far and wide, has been unable to locate the enticing piece of eroticism.
"I will be delighted to hear from anyone who can loan us the priceless painting -- or even a copy!" said June as she prepares for the final weeks of rehearsal.
If you can help, please contact June on 01942 245058.
Meanwhile, scenic artist Sandra Farrimond is patiently waiting with palette, paint and brushes at the ready to produce an acceptable copy should the search fail.
Abigail's Party, written by Mike Leigh, first caught the public's imagination as a BBC Play for Today back in 1977, and has remained a firm favourite.
Tickets (£5) for the play at St Joseph's Hall in Chapel Street, Leigh are selling well at Boardman's Outfitters on Bradshawgate, Leigh.
