LEIGH Townswomen's Guild's first charity event of the season raised £135 for Leukaemia Research thanks to a concert by the Deep Harmony Male Voice Choir.
The next moneyraiser will be an afternoon tea in the Derby Room, Leigh Library, on June 10 at 2pm.
The meeting on June 1 at 7.15pm will hear David Lees talk about leukaemia -- the group's charity for 2004, followed by a return visit from ex-policeman Joe Riley on the 8th at 7.15pm whose topic will cover help and information. New members will be made welcome.
