A VOLUNTARY help group has celebrated its silver jubilee with a list of thank yous.
Leigh and District Welfare Rights Group praised the supporters and advisers throughout the years and Wigan Council for its backing in keeping the organisation afloat during difficult times.
At a celebration party, the now defunct LAMP Bookshop-- the group's base for 18 years -- was also remembered, along with the Leigh Centre for the Unemployed, which stepped in to provide a new venue.
The day was also used to highlight the fact that the Chester Street centre is now available for other groups to use for meetings or as a base.
Spokesman Paddy Hill said: "Although access for people with disabilities is not as good as it should, we are exploring funding opportunities to rectify this."
Anyone interested in using the building should contact volunteer staff on 01942 681308 on Saturday mornings or call in.
