A PROJECT which supports women with booze problems is seeking volunteers to help develop a new advocacy service.
The Leigh-based Willow Project wants to recruit helpers with a few hours to spare each month who are willing to try to boost the confidence of women concerned about their own or someone else's drinking.
Volunteer advocates will accompany them to meetings or appointments, provide backing in obtaining benefit or housing advice and assist them to make friends through new activities.
Other opportunities include reception duties, distributing publicity material and administrative tasks. In return Willow will refund out-of-pocket expenses, provide training and a chance to learn new skills.
Ring the information line 01942 678300 on Wednesdays between 5pm and 8pm, Thursdays 1pm to 8pm and Fridays 1pm to 4pm (answer machine at other times), visit the web site www.willowproject.com or write to the Willow Project, PO Box 8, Leigh WN7 1FB.
