STAFF and pupils at a Tyldesley school can take a bow after winning a golden honour.
Fred Longworth High has once again been recognised for its work in arts education by receiving one of only 476 top Artsmark Awards announced this year.
The award recognises schools that demonstrate a commitment to providing opportunities across all art forms from drama to music, design to literature, dance to sculpture.
A small sample of the activities that helped win the award includes music students working with Chris Perry, a professional drummer on samba rhythms, and on a drama production of "Arabian Nights", being produced by pro actress, Victoria Fleming.
In dance, pupils have worked with the Candoco Dance Company integrating students with disabilities, and with Sarah Black of the English National Ballet and Rambert, performing at the Lowry and Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral.
The school has also been displaying the work of local artist and teacher, Roberta Wynette, to provide a stimulus for students on their "City Landscape" work.
