ON Thursday evening there was an improved turnout on Island Lodge for the fourth target match.
Daz Shaw took top weight with roach and skimmers for 7-6-1.
In second place was John Fletcher (6-0-4) and third, Frank Henderson (1-10-6).
On Sunday the Jubilee Cup was competed for on the streamside of the same venue and there was some quality bream in the leading weights.
Dave Waggler took top weight with 6-5-0. In second place was Mathew Schofield (5-3-0) who just pipped John Fleterch (5-2-8). Fourth was Chris Hogan (3-0-0).
On Saturday, a six man team - three from Bury and three from Blackburn - fished the Northern Junior Angling Association regional final under the Fisherman's Way, Hyndburn and Blackburn banner.
Five teams competed on the Bradshaw Fisheries number three lodge.
The team did extremely well, seeing off opposition from Wigan, Leigh and Bolton to qualify for the final at Lake View Fisheries, Leicestershire on June 12.
The team had to individual in Jamie Banks (Blackburn) 17-0-0, Sean Monk (Bury) won his section 11-12-0 while captain Boydan Krupnychyj (Bury) was second in section with 7-0-0.
The remaining squad members were Chris Holden (Bury), Chris Sharp (Blackburn) and Samantha O'Neill (Blackburn) who, despite losing her tackle in a garage fire at home, competed with borrowed equipment.
In the latest Pilsworth Open fished on the Match Lake, Dave Jowett (junior) of Fisherman's Way, took top weight 22-0-0.
In second place was Walt Gregson (14-0-0) and third was J. Derbyshire (Tight Lines Shaw) 13-5-0.
In the Pilsworth Fisheries Monday Open held on the Bottom Ponds, Jonathan Jowett (Drennan NW) took top weight 27-3-0.
In second place was Daz Shaw (Drennan NW) 24-4-0 and third, P. Koback (Macey's Aces) 16-3-0.
Also, Jonathan, fishing further away at Browning Cudmore (Whitmore Fisheries) topped the weights in a field of 48 from the Suez Canal peg 33.
In a weight of 41-2-0 he had carp to 2lb and small tench with backing weights 41-0-0 and 40-15-0 in a close finish.
On Sunday, in the Hebden Bridge Open, fished on the Rochdale Canal at Moderna, quality fish featured in the leading weights.
Top weight fell to Alan Fisher (Gilders Tackle) with three bream plus tench at peg 264 (6-3-8).
Fishing the next peg Lennie Fosdyke (Profish UK) had bream and perch for 3-0-0 and third was I. Latham (Tri Cast Rochdale) with 2-2-0.
The northern semi-final of the Angling Times/Van Den Eynde Supercup will be held in two weeks at Woodland Lakes.
Twenty northern clubs will be competing.
Reigning champions Darwen Loyals, Osram Ac, Hunslet AC, Bolton Angling Centre, Brittania AC, Brigg, Vale AC and Grove Park have all qualified.
On the local scene the Field Lodge continues to fish well for roach.
Skimmer bream catches from Island Lodge have improved and quality bream have featured from the Square Lodge. This venue holds a good head of tench.

NEXT club trip to Rhyl will be held tomorrow (Saturday) to fish aboard Jenson for a 12-hour wrecking trip.
The next club meeting will be held on Sunday at 1.30pm.
This is the final date for £50 deposits for the 2005 trip to Port Sumner.

NEXT club match - the June Cup - will be held on Parkers on Sunday, June 13. Draw 9am fishing from 10am to 3pm.
The Thursday evening target match will be held on Island Lodge on June 3. Draw time 5pm to 5.30pm, fishing from 6pm to dusk.
Nominations are required from members who wish to fish the Division One national on the River Trent on Saturday, July 17.
A twelve man squad with up to eight reserves needs to be submitted by June 18.
Those wishing to nominate should submit names to list at Fisherman's Way.
