POLICE have ordered the closure of a pool hall, because of allegations it was being used as drugs den.
Officers yesterday served notice on the Streetwise Pool Hall in Bury demanding the immediate cessation of business and barring anyone from entering the building in Back Haymarket Street.
The closure follows a series of dawn raids, codenamed Operation Benson, following months of intelligence gathering on drug dealing activities in the borough.
Representatives from the police will today (Friday) seek ratification of the closure order at a civil hearing at Bury Magistrates Court.
