SO determined was mum Sharon Carroll to complete the Great Manchester Run in memory of her brave daughter, Dana, she finished it with a broken foot!
Sharon, of Pilling Street, Walshaw, suffered the break when she tripped up halfway round the 10km course on Sunday. Thinking it was a sprain, Sharon ignored the pain to complete the run for her "special star" Dana.
Dana won the hearts of the people of Bury in her fight against a rare form of bone cancer which she lost in March, aged just eight.
Sharon did the run with her son Daniel (13) and friend, Rebecca Foster, to raise more than £1,000 for the charities which helped Dana.
