A COMPLAINT alleging that a Metrolink staff member drove a tram while reading a newspaper and with his feet up on the window has been withdrawn.
Mr Allan Bennett had claimed his partner and daughter had witnessed the incident while travelling from Bury to Manchester earlier this month.
Metrolink asked that he give ticket details to enable them to determine the identity of the driver who was on duty . Now, however, Mr Bennett, who lives in Bury, is not pursuing the matter further.
A Metrolink spokeswoman said: "As far as we are concerned, the complaint has been withdrawn. We are now unable to investigate the allegation.
"There had been no evidence to substantiate it and Mr Bennett does not want to proceed."
