POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured by two handbag thieves who pulled her out of her car.
The 35-year-old victim was sat in the vehicle in Arlington Avenue, Sedgley Park, Prestwich, at 2.30pm on Friday (May 21), when two men approached the vehicle and tried to get in through the passenger side door.
One of the men smashed the window on the driver's side and snatched the keys from the ignition. He then grabbed a handbag from the front seat and pulled the victim from the vehicle into the road. Both robbers fled, leaving the woman with injuries to her knee and elbow.
The first offender was in his mid 20s, 5ft 5ins tall, of stocky build, with stubble on his face. He wore a dark coloured baseball cap, a hooded top and sports clothing.
His accomplice was also white, 15 years old, 5ft 3ins tall and wore similar clothing.
