A MAN who overcame childhood blindness through self healing will give a talk in Prestwich next Friday (June 4).
Meir Schneider, from America, was born with cataracts and other serious vision problems.
After five operations on the lenses of his eyes, doctors pronounced his condition "hopeless" and he was certified blind.
As a boy, Meir performed his reading and schoolwork in Braille until, at the age of 17, he began practising the Bates Method of eye exercises.
Concentrating on his exercises for up to 13 hours a day, and together with movement exercises and self-massage, Meir could visualise objects after six months.
Within 18 months he could read without glasses and he now holds an unrestricted California driver's licence.
Meir has helped more than 7,000 with the Meir Schneider Healing Method and will share his inspirational story at the Creative Living Centre in Bury New Road. The talk is at 5pm and guests are welcome.
The talk will be followed up by two workshops at Besses New Church, off Jackson Street in Whitefield on Saturday, June 5, entitled Movement for Wellbeing and Sunday, June 6, entitled Vision Improvement.
