GOURMET food is being served up in Lancaster over the Bank Holiday weekend as the city stages a Continental Market.
A taster day is this Friday in Market Square with the main market on Church Street from Saturday to Monday.
The event is a joint venture between Lancaster City Council and the Chamber of Commerce retail sector, operated by Continental & Old French Market Ltd.
Shoppers can expect treats such as breads, cheeses, sausages, honey and olives plus art, leather and other goods on offer.
The Chamber's Jerry North says: "The European Continent is one of the most popular destinations for British tourists either for holidays, gourmet breaks and long weekends. It is these experiences that the markets hope to replicate."
