IT BEGGARS belief that Cllr Tony Wade should suggest doing away with the Scale Hall Lane traffic lights in his letter published last week.
The many local residents and people from Bare and Morecambe who used Scale Hall Lane prior to the installation of the lights had a virtually impossible task to either enter or exit.
One very good reason was the nice people from Cllr Wade's whereabouts who simply would not let people in to join the flow of traffic towards Lancaster or, conversely, to enter Scale Hall Lane. Hence the reason for the traffic lights in the first place.
His letter doesn't mention that one of the major causes of delays on Morecambe Road at peak times is the crossing patrol at Our Lady's High School. Surely, his logic would suggest that the school should be closed.
I will also remind him that Scale Hall people, too. pay our road taxes, income taxes and local rates and so deserve some consideration.
H Gardner, Lancaster.
