COUNCILLORS concerned about illegal parking in Rossendale will consult police over delays to the decriminalisation of parking.
The new procedure, which means enforcement will be passed from police to the council, was due to start on July 4.
But the Department of Transport recently revealed it has been deferred until September 5.
And councillors used Wednesday night's full council meeting to raise concerns about motorists being allowed to illegally park for another two months.
Coun Alyson Barnes suggested asking the police to patrol Rawtenstall for half a day each week in a bid to catch offenders out.
