HAVE you always wanted to go out on a wing and a prayer for charity? Well, here's your chance...
For years, the Utterly Butterly Wing Walkers team have been besieged with requests from volunteers who want to join them on their daring flights to raise publicity and cash for good causes.
For reasons of time, those requests have always been turned down until now.
For the first time, the team, which regularly visits Blackpool as it takes part in shows in the resort and at Southport, will allow an outsider to join them on the wings
The team is looking for a Blackpool-based charity fundraiser or campaigner to take to the wings of their 1940s bi-plane at speeds of up to 150 miles-per-hour. Investment banker, Kirsty Joly, 30 is a member of the team. She said: "Wingwalking is fantastic fun.
The Utterly Butterlys would like to give one daring fundraiser the chance to stand on the wing to promote their charity. Not only will this be great for the charity but whoever lands this opportunity will experience the most thrilling flight of their lives."
The team made their appeal as they prepared for this weekend's Blackpool Sky Show, where they will join a host of high-fliers, including the Red Arrows, for a spectacular series of events above the resort.
They will return to the region for the Southport Airshow on September 12, when they will be joined by the charity volunteer.
Anyone interested in taking part should write to the Utterly Butterlys at:
Spreading Happiness, RFC Rendcomb Airfield, Cirencester, Glos, GL7 7DF. Potential wingwalkers must be under 6ft tall and weigh less than 13 stone.
