A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy was killed in a road accident in Leigh on Friday night.
Ryan Thomas Ashbrook was with a group of other children in Hope Street, Leigh, when it is thought he ran into the road and was struck by a vehicle at 7.10pm.
Ryan, who lived in the Leigh area, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A 40-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene. He is currently in custody at Leigh police station.
Police urgently need to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.
