A COMMUNITY group is calling for an old aviary in Great Harwood's Memorial Park to be removed to stop teenage yobs spoiling the area.
The building from the 1920s and is now mostly boarded up but half the structure is a seating area.
The secretary of the Friends of Memorial Park is leading the fight to have the building taken down, to stop youngsters gathering in it and causing damage.
The call comes just days after vandals snapped six trees in the park.
Barbara Sharples said: "Nowadays it's just used for underage drinking, and they even urinate against the walls.
"They then go on to do damage in the park."
The idea of removing the aviary was first discussed last year.
The plans were not supported, and the building was left alone.
