Doncaster 19 Leigh 14 by Mike Hulme: A FURIOUS Darren Abram laid the blame for Leigh's shock defeat at the door of his own players.
The Centurions coach blasted: "Doncaster didn't win it, we lost it."
Abram added: "Yes, I'm angry. Not just because we lost the game, but the way we lost it.
"There was no composure out there when we had them stretched in the last 20 minutes.
"We had enough possession to win the game."
Without five key players -- Turley, Percival, Duffy, Martyn and Knott -- Leigh were a shadow of the side that rocketed to the top of the table and were 14-0 down inside the first quarter. Inspired by ex-Leeds half-back Graham Holroyd, the Dragons were quickly out of the blocks. They touched down twice through Holroyd and PJ Solomon. Holroyd added a conversion and two penalties.
In driving rain, Leigh hardly had a sniff of the Doncaster line until four minutes before the break when Dan Potter scored in at the corner.
A Rob Smyth try and penalty at the start of the second half launched a Leigh fightback but although Doncaster rarely threatened, Holroyd kept daylight between the sides with a penalty and a field goal.
When Steve Maden slipped over to reduce the deficit to three points with 12 minutes left, Leigh scented an unlikely victory. Holroyd's fifth successful kick left Leigh needing a converted try to win it, but they could not find a way through.
.
The defeat knocked Leigh off top spot as they go into next week's Arriva Trains quarter-final at Barrow needing a good win to restore confidence.
