WHEN Prestwich's Casey Lee Jolleys won the role of Fred Elliott's Thai bride, Orchid, in Coronation Street, her mum, Maureen, was pleased.
But when Casey was invited on to GMTV, Maureen was even more delighted. "My mum just loves Eamon Holmes," said Casey, with a giggle. And when presenter Eamonn learned of Maureen's admiration, he gave her a "special wave" on the programme, and sent her back an autographed photo.
"She was thrilled," Casey said. "The fact that I was on the couch with Eamonn impressed her more than anything else I've ever done!"
Now Casey -- who has been a big hit as conwoman Stacey -- says the show's producers have told her the door may be left open for her character in the future. And she has already had "lovely letters" from viewers. "They seem to like Orchid. And some still want her to marry Fred and settle down in The Street!"
IMPRESSED: Proud mum Maureen with daughter Casey Lee
