HARD-hitting Sri Lankan professional Jeevantha Kalatunga led Barnoldswick to an eight wicket win over Baxenden in the Veka Ribblesdale League on Saturday.
Jonathon Harvey scored a half century for Baxenden, but saw the rest of the batting collapse around home as they were dismissed for 115. Kalatunga tore into the bowling, scoring 84 not out as his side secured maximum points.
Settle are also keeping up their challenge at the top after Paul Stafford scored 54 in their total of 202-8 declared, and Indian medium-pace bowler Robin Morris took 6-36 as Oswaldtwistle were shot out for 74.
Read grabbed a run-rate victory after Great Harwood piled up a total of 244-8 with Allan Armer scoring 95 and professional Andrew Crook 80.
Read smashed 225-3 in just 35 overs with Craig Walton (52), Peter Sleep (57) and pro Danny Law 55 not out.
Andy Marsh (51) and Richard Lloyd (61) helped Ribblesdale Wanderers to 174-8. Braithwaite took 7-26 as Padiham were dismissed for 141 despite 62 from professional Kasif Siddique.
Abdul Visoodwall scored 110 as Blackburn Northern set a target of 208-7 and Gareth Flusk took 8-29 as Whalley were dismissed for 62.
Cherry Tree's Ian Bickerstaffe took 4-34 , but could not stop Edenfield reaching 171-7 with professional Andy Webb scoring 75. Liam Bones then took four wickets and Brett Storey 3-17 as the Blackburn side were dismissed for 70.
Earby let a golden chance of victory slip from their grasp after dismissing Clitheroe for 194. The visitors were then dismissed for 177.
