I READ with amazement Inspector Laraway's footnote (LET, May 21) to the letter complaining of illegal parking in Whalley Range, Blackburn.
Surely the drivers of these cars were aware of the rules of the road when they passed their driving test.
So why is there a need for further education?
After all, double yellow lines and seatbelts are hardly a recent innovation.
It must be galling to be fined when they see others openly flouting the law just being asked to park considerately. Where is the nanny state going to end?
