SAEED Anwar turned in a match winning performance for last season's Inter League Challenge Trophy runners-up Crompton, who beat Bacup by 23 runs.
Anwar hit 85 and then took 5-12 as Bacup could find no answer to the Pakistani's left arm spin.
Werneth won at Rawtenstall by five wickets. The home side did well to reach 182 after being 25-6 but thanks to a career best 81 by Paul Bingham they made a game of it. Steven Moore took 4-23 for Werneth.
Lowerehouse had a day to forget at Heywood who again topped the 200 mark in this competition. Professional Johan Botha hit 101 and Mike Arnold 78 in the home side's 236-8, but Lowerhouse capitulated to 68 all out with Botha taking 3-19.
In the all Central Lancashire League ties Rochdale won at Royton by eight wickets with Aakash Chopra hitting 98 not out and Littleborough beat Middleton by 11 runs despite of a superb 106 from visiting professional Sajith Fernando.
