THERE will be no mobile speed camera sites in East Lancashire this week as civilian technicians continue their training.
The 12 new speed enforcement wardens, employed by the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety, have been in training for over a month as they learn procedures and how to use the speed guns.
They are expected to hit the streets by the second week in June.
When their training is finished, two technicians will be placed in each policing division of Lancashire, including Pennine Division, covering Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale, and Eastern, covering Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn and the Ribble Valley.
The technicians' salary is reported to be £16,000 a year, with money coming out of the partnership's budget.
